Our Mission Statement
At FIRST Emergency Management & Response Ltd. we prepare organizations to respond to incidents and emergencies; through education, training, and evaluation. We help our clients minimize the costs associated with hazardous events and ensure regulatory compliance. Our focus is to assist industry, government and NGOs to prepare, respond and recover from surprise events.
Our Expertise
Mark Zamin is the founder and President of FIRST Emergency Management & Response Ltd. A graduate of York University's Emergency Management and Disaster Planning program, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. As a former member of the Alberta Energy Regulator’s emergency response team, Mark has deployed to major oil & gas incidents in the province of Alberta since 2012. His knowledge of emergency Environmental Protection Orders (EPO) and legislation can only be gained through full immersion in incidents. Mark’s leadership and skill at bringing order to chaotic situations makes him invaluable to your next incident. He also brings all his experience of development and design, facilitating and evaluating emergency exercises to the table. Mark has intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the legislation that guides industry in emergency response, planning and compliance. His auditing and evaluations of industry’s emergency response plans (ERP) gives him the expert knowledge required to navigate the government regulations and legislation for the benefit of our clients.

Being prepared allows you to fully commit to protecting Albertans and the environment. Decisions made at the onset of an emergency affect the positive outcome at the remediation phase. By being prepared, we can help shorten the emergency phase of an incident. Preparedness will help lower the cost and time spent in the emergency phase and expedite the return to regular operations.
